Modern Minimalist Homes Design Ideas

Modern homes design ideas give the homeowners planning to construct a new latest modern house. Modern minimalist house design is today’s most favorite house design due to its elegance, simplicity, and efficiency reflected in the exterior and the interior design. Modern minimalist concept has a simple character. Rather than filling space with different types of furnitures, modern minimalist home design more focus on limiting the amount of furnitures so less, but with the emphasis on higher quality or sentimental value of the modern homes design ideas.

The modern minimalist interior design practitioners, in particular who persevere in the minimalist style, has defined the meaning of minimalism to the modern homes design ideas, and then found that the characters of minimalist house have certain levels of minimalism.

Generally, in the modern homes design ideas, the characters of minimalist design are:

1. Emphasize quality rather than quantity (Decorations and Furnitures)
2. It has a clear surface area or blank walls.

4. Then, based on the minimalism levels, the characters are divided into a number of stages, such as extreme minimalist, medium minimalist and light minimalist.

Here are the descriptions of the minimalism levels :

1. Extreme minimalist
- Just include the basic furnitures. There’s almost no additional decoration.
- All surfaces are clean. It’s not covered by other elements either on the walls, floor and ceiling.
- The placement of lightings and other functional elements are small and unobtrusive.
- No carpets or extra furnishing, and sometimes there is a simple white curtains, and even if it is extremely needed.

2. Medium Minimalist
- There are additional furnitures with the simple character.
- It has a simple decoration as well. It could be a blank canvas hung above the wall of the bed.
- Every accessory or decoration has its own place, but displayed hidden in drawers and shelves.
- There’s one focal point that makes an impact on the room and enhances the atmosphere. For example, a large chandelier and carpet tucked under the bed.
- The surface of the wall looks pretty clear and dominant, but it’s added with a little decoration, and usually only one in each field.

3. Light Minimalist
- Color schemes are simple but have the courage to play with other soft and cozy colors.
- The surface of the wall is not very clean. There have been more varied and uncluttered decorative elements.
- There is an open space for a blank wall.
- There are other elements in addition to the decoration of furnitures.
